About

Hello my name is David Im. This is my blog. This is my little dusty corner of the world wide web where I will post insights, lessons and "cool things" that crosses my path.

As a point of reference (in my blog) you will mostly find musings about: life lessons (that are worth sharing), good food, good design and things on two wheels (bikes and motorcycles) and lastly - tech innovation/start up - lessons, insights titled "The Hustle."

Please do ask me anything. I am always very eager and glad to be of help.

The Hustle

I am co-founder of a Boston start-up called Mercavo.  Mercavo is a web services company helping to create the “intent economy.”

Mercavo is a marketplace where a new commodity: “intent” can be monetized, exchanged or traded for point value for later consumption of an opportunity (someone else’s intent) that is valuable to you.

We believe we have figured out a clear path to VRM (Vendor Relationship Management).   Mercavo is disruptive.  We are going to democratize this landscape and give you control of your intent value.

Everyone is familiar with “When Banks compete you win!”  - this is a failed exchange.  You get the value of “Banks Competing” the middle man (Lending Tree) gets the value of your intent and sells the crap out of it. You know how this goes …

Here is a new matra: “When banks pay me, I win.”

Customer acquisition budgets are fluid.  Banks will gladly pay Lending Tree or you for the rights to your intent.

Sounds crazy … I am!

Here is our traction so far:

Y0 (Alpha) - $30K

Y1 (Alpha) - $180K

Y2 (Beta 2011) -On ramp for $2M in revenue.

Demand is insatiable for our product.
